Come prepare your hearts for what God has in store for you. Be willing and open to the blessings He wants to bestow upon you as a woman...a daughter, a student, a friend, a co-worker, a mom, a wife, an aunt, a sister, a grandmother...a woman of God.
"Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my anxious thoughts." -Psalm 139:23
The Search My Heart, O Lord Ladies' Retreat will focus on Psalm 139, led by guest speaker Anita Onarecker Wood, author of Divine Appointment: Our Journey to the Bridge, which she wrote to allow readers into her life-journey and how she encountered Don Piper on a Texas bridge. Her book is a companion story, a back-story, to 90 Minutes in Heaven, the New York Times bestseller. Anita's story reveals the connections of life choices and demonstrates how different decisions alter one's destination. God permitted her to witness extraordinary prayer and His miraculous intervention. Anita understands challenges of life and brings a message of encouragement. Her husband, Dick, died in 1996, completely altering Anita's life. She recognized God's call to ministry and therefore finished college and seminary. After receiving her Master's Degree in 2007, she now has a speaking, teaching, and writing ministry. Since 2004 she served with SBTC women's ministry team and recently joined the staff of Memorial Baptist Church in Spring, TX as Director of Education and Evangelism. She lives in Spring, Texas with husband Ed Wood, who is her #1 prayer supporter and encourager. She is mother to Terri and Kevin, and Maw-Maw to five granchildren! God is good.
